Objective of the Event

The objective of the Group Discussion Championship was to enhance students’ analytical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills while encouraging awareness on current issues in the field of pharmacy. The event aimed to promote critical discussions around technology, ethics, and sustainability in pharmacy practices.

Description of the Event (Activities Conducted)

The Career Launchpad Club of Lloyd School of Pharmacy organized the Group Discussion Championship on 11th August 2025. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from B.Pharm students, who formed teams of 5–7 members each.

The discussion revolved around the theme — “Convergence of Technology, Ethics & Sustainability in Pharmacy.” Key discussion topics included:

• AI in Healthcare: A Threat to Jobs or a Tool for Growth
• Should Animal Testing in Medicine Be Banned?
• Climate Change and Its Impact on Global Health – Role of Pharmacy
• Fast Drug Development vs. Eco-Friendly Practices
• Plastic Packaging in Medicines: Time to Choose Sustainability over Convenience
• Pharmacy and Bioterrorism: Are We Ready?
• Over-the-Counter Medicines: Convenience or Public Health Threat?
• Global Health Inequality: Can Technology Bridge the Gap?

Each group was given 12–15 minutes to present and debate on the assigned topics. The sessions were judged based on communication skills, relevance, teamwork, confidence, and content knowledge. The event concluded with appreciation remarks from faculty coordinators, highlighting the importance of informed discussions in shaping future pharmacists.
